Job Shop

Children in Y1 -6 are expected to have a job.

There are lot of different jobs to choose from, with different levels of responsibility, required skills and pay.

The children apply for their roles through an application form, provide a reference and may need to attend an interview.

Jobs last for a term and a half. The wage clerks keep track of the work completed and ensure the children receive the correct amount of Rainbow Pounds.

Rainbow Pounds can be spent on a range of things from a book, to extra playtime, afternoon tea or even a movie. Children can also choose to treat a friend with Rainbow Pounds.

The children wear lanyards in school so that everyone knows what their job is and they are responsible for keeping their timesheet updated.

The children enjoy trying out different roles and learning new skills but most of all they enjoy earning money and choosing whether to save it or how to spend it!
