Wellbeing & Mental Health

We use a range of strategies to promote positive mental health and wellbeing with all the children in school, such as yoga sessions, mindfulness time, Mental Health Champions. and through our PSHE curriculum.

Sometimes children need more support. These children may take part in small group interventions such as Mighty Minds, FRIENDS or Lego Therapy lead by a teaching assistant.

If a child needs more intensive support then they are referred to our Emotional Literacy Support Assistant (ELSA), Mrs Inkson.

What is an Emotional Literacy Support Assistant?

The ELSA (Emotional Literacy Support Assistant) programme is an evidence- informed, nationally recognised approach to supporting children with a range of emotional needs. Mrs Inkson is our accredited ELSA who has attended training with the Sheffield Educational Psychology team.
