Personal Development

At Rainbow Forge Primary School, personal development is at the heart of everything we do. We are committed to nurturing the whole child—helping every pupil grow academically, socially, and emotionally so they are equipped for life in modern Britain.

Our approach to personal development supports and celebrates each child’s individuality while fostering the school’s core values. Through our broad and enriching curriculum, we develop pupils’ spiritual, moral, social, and cultural (SMSC) understanding, enabling them to reflect on their own beliefs, appreciate the views of others, and make thoughtful choices that have a positive impact on the world around them.

We actively promote the fundamental British Values of democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty, and mutual respect and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs. These values underpin our school culture and help pupils become thoughtful, active citizens who contribute positively to society.

We also place a strong emphasis on developing cultural capital, ensuring that every child has access to a wide range of enriching experiences that broaden their horizons and inspire aspiration. From trips, visitors, and creative opportunities to leadership roles and community engagement, we help children build the knowledge, confidence, and curiosity they need to succeed and thrive beyond primary school. We have created the ‘Rainbow Rucksack‘ which outlines the enhancements we make sure all children access whilst at Rainbow Forge.

At Rainbow Forge, personal development means empowering every child to know who they are, value others, and shine brightly in all they do. Here is the overview of Personal Development Personal development
